Nyanza region lies in the South-Western part of Kenya and around the Lake Victoria. Most communities are predominantly involved in subsistence farming and small scale fishing as a way of making a living. We mainly work in the rural areas of Nyanza in the areas of improving access to water and sanitation in Homa Bay, Siaya and Migori counties.
Many public primary schools lack adequate sanitary facilities and access to water due to the prohibitive level of capital investment required. At Education Effect Africa, we work closely with school communities to help them harness their natural resources to improve their sanitary conditions and safety through construction of sanitary facilities, harvesting of rain water and digging of wells in the villages of Rongo, Siaya and Kisumu.
